The time spent waiting to welcome a new baby into your life, whether it is the first, second, third or beyond, is such a joyous and special time. It is a time that I love to capture for my clients because it is filled with so much emotion. When older siblings are included in maternity sessions, the whole dynamic changes. Of course, there is a LOT more activity when you have older children involved but there is also a sweetness unlike any other. The connection between a mama and her first babies while she is carrying her newest baby is one that is hard to describe with words. It is beautiful and sweet, magical and loving, tender and special. It is one that is gone before you know it, and one that I love to capture for my clients.

Elizabeth is expecting her third baby, a surprise gender baby. Her first loves, Logan and Riley, have different guesses on what their new sibling will be. Of course Logan thinks the baby is a boy, and Riley thinks it is a girl! Both are equally excited about their family growing from a family of four to a family of five, and cannot wait to meet their new brother or sister. Logan and Riley were both so sweet with their mama’s baby bump, and gave it lots of kisses and snuggles. Their new sibling is already surrounded by so much love! The day of their session was a chilly May Gray day, but the kids did not seem to mind. They had a blast running around the beach when they weren’t snuggling mama’s belly!

I am excited to see this family again once their new little one arrives. I cannot help but wonder whether Logan or Riley will be right! Either way, this family has so much love to share with their new baby.
