San Diego Family Photographer | Tea Party For Two

So much BEAUTY going on right here! I adore these two. Their sweet tea party at the end of the session was the icing on the cake!

I received the sweetest letter from her momma:

She was born on a cool summer’s morning in July and restarted my world in the most exquisite and profound way a world can start over again.  With her birth, I was reborn into a vulnerable and fierce new creature; amazed by how this tiny life could both fully wreck and rebuild me, draw out my deepest fears and breathe in new hope and peace I’d never come close to imagining before her. And with every passing day and every new milestone we’ve danced through in this strange and wonderful and foreign and personal and ever-changing rhythm of life together; I’ve purposed to be present in the present.  Because it goes so fast. And it doesn’t slow down.

You capture the moments we are living annually for us, and in the most beautiful way. Having these still, candid frames to remember the present moment, has slowed it down.  The simple details captured {her wisps of thin golden hair, her tiny chubby fingers, the way she fits so perfectly curled into me, the softness of her baby-doll skin, her soft suckling as she nurses, magical tea parties together, the curious wonder in her gray-blue eyes…} brings a gentle pause into what otherwise would fly by in the ever quickening, wonderful roller coaster of this life.

In the Psalms, the psalmists use the term “selah” to remind the reader to pause and drink deeply in that refrain; you have given us priceless “selahs” in the moments you captures for us year after year. I am forever grateful for these moments.
