This gorgeous family session was taken at one of my favorite fields in North County San Diego. Fields offer such a gorgeous backdrop to your portraits, especially during the later afternoon hours where the light fades into hazy pink and reflects the natural beauty of our city! 
Capturing Memories on Film
I have been so excited to be shooting more and more sessions in film this year, and I actually shot this whole family portrait session in only film! Branching out into film photography after shooting mainly digital was something I wanted to accomplish this year as a photographer. After attending a film workshop over the summer in Seattle, I left feeling empowered and encouraged to photograph in film as much as I could. Now whenever I get my scans back, the excitement is like Christmas morning!
There’s something so timeless and organic about having your session shot in film – it is very special and dear to my heart to offer this type of photography my clients so I am now including film as well as digital in all of my sessions.
Elegant Family Portraits of my Best Friend
This session means so much to me, since it’s of one of my very best friends!! I’m so happy that I get to experience this journey of motherhood with my her by side – there is nothing that parallels the sisterhood we share together.
We met 6 years ago when we moved into our homes at the same time and became next door neighbors, got pregnant at the same time, ventured into this beautiful journey of motherhood at the same time, have raised our babies next door to each other for the past 5 years (and right up the road for the past 8 months), and are now on the homeschooling journey together. Her oldest daughter and my oldest boy are the best of friends, and only 6 weeks apart. It’s amazing how God puts people in your life at just the right times. I love this family as if they were my own, and am so honored to have captured their family photos.

Candid Moments Captured on Camera
Sighing into his arms, with nothing but love and excitement between you for where you’ve come and where you’re going – now that is a moment you’ll want to remember the feeling of forever. Kiss her forehead the way you did when you welcomed your first baby into the world. Wrap your arms around your children and snuggle them close like you did on your very first Mother’s Day.
