Baby Bump Chalkboard Update

I have so much fun drawing these chalkboards updates and taking photos every week to document my growing baby bump. I’m astonished every week at how much my belly grows and how much stronger Aiden gets every week! Pregnancy is one of the most AMAZING things I have ever experienced, and I can only imagine what birth is going to be like. It’s still the most incredible thing and I get so excited each time I feel him move, although I don’t think it will never not be weird to me to feel something moving inside me. It feels like there’s a little alien inside my belly.  It is so astonishing to me to know my body is growing another life; a little human being in there! 

Aiden decided to make quite the entrance and surprise us two weeks early in Lake Tahoe! I was in my friend Summer and Sean’s wedding and literally right after their ceremony, they announced the wedding party, and the bride and groom had their first dance to Citizen’s Cope “Sideways”. Towards the end of the song they invited everyone to join in, so Phil and I slow danced. After the song, I was starving because I barely ate all day. We were hovering over the appetizers while they were unwrapping them and talking. All the sudden I said “Holy sh** my water just broke!” And the rest is history! I stuck to my natural (no pain meds!) birth plan and gave birth to Aiden Ireland Popp at 3:22 am on June 8th. He was 6 lb, 12 oz, 18 inch, perfectly healthy and absolutely perfect in EVERY way! This was by far the most incredibly, amazingly, words can’t even begin to describe moment in our lives and our hearts were overflowing with LOVE and tears were flowing when they put our little miracle on my chest.
